Community Dive Restores Damaged Reef Zone

Certified divers from across the region joined the Reef Renewal Lab for a community restoration
dive at Coral Point. The team planted over 300 coral fragments and removed invasive algae from
the reef zone. Participants received training on coral handling and underwater safety, and many
expressed interest in becoming long-term reef stewards. The event demonstrated the power of
community engagement in marine restoration efforts. Local dive shops provided equipment and
logistical support, while marine scientists supervised the restoration techniques. Post-dive
surveys showed improved reef structure and increased fish activity. Future dives are planned to
monitor progress and expand restoration to adjacent reef areas.
